How To Use DotSchools College Search Tools

Dotschools promoDotSchools contains a series of 4 specialty tools that finds the right schools for you based on your desired criteria. For example, if you’re looking for the top Bachelor Degrees available today, great Criminal Justice programs, or even the best Advertising Business Bachelor Degrees in the greater San Diego, California area; DotSchools will help you find the right school.

Our matching tools connects you with colleges based on degree type, area or program of interest, and also the type of learning environment (online or campus based locations) that best suit your academic and professional goals.

Before you start the DotSchools matching process, it’s helpful to know some of the following information:

  • Is Online or Campus based learning better and what the differences.
  • What type of degree do you need? (Bachelors, Masters, etc)
  • Your Area of Interest; whether you have a broad sense (Business Degrees) or focused sense (International Accounting Practices for Business Degrees)

Based on what information you have above, we provide you with a few tools to help you discover the right school.

1. Online or Campus Based Learning

campus searchBy clicking the “Online“, “Campus“, or Online and Campus” buttons, you’ll be able to retrieve a relevant list of schools.

If you’re only interested in Online schools, then the “Online” button is for you.

If you’re more interested in attending a campus based school, click the “Campus” button and you’ll see additional drop down menus appear that will help you determine where you’d like to attend.

Once you’ve determined your ideal location, use the other tools to help determine your degree type and area/program of interest, or simply start applying to these schools.

The next step is to identify your “Type of Degree” or “Area/Program of Interest”;  see below on how to accomplish either.

Throughout the entire site you’ll see “Types of Degrees” in the upper left menu. Click on the degree type you desire to display a full list of schools offering that degree.

The next step is to select your Area/Program of interest (see below)

3. Area/Program of Interest

From the homepage and throughout the site you’ll find a comprehensive list of ‘Programs of Interest’ in the left column. Clicking any on of these programs will display an additional list of more focused programs.

For example, if you click Business, you’ll then be showed Accounting, Administrative, Advertising and Marketing focused programs.

You can continuously click away and keep refining your criteria until you’re left with the ideal schools for your needs.

  1. Click on the Degree Program link in the left column to refine your search further (see (a))
  2. Click on the Degree Program within the list of schools to apply to that school for that program. (see (b))
  3. Not completely sure of your program choice? View all programs from your matched schools. (see (c))

If you’re fairly confident on the Area/Program of Interest, and where you want to attend school, then please give this tool a shot.

all schoolsYou’ll find this tool on the homepage of DotSchools and it matches you with colleges based on your desired learning environment (online or campus-based), and program of interest. To get started, click ‘Match Me’ and complete the short form. Next, simply click ‘Continue’ and you’ll be matched with the right schools for your needs.
