Thanks for sharing your thought. It does make sense to go to college when a person is ready for it. Just to go for the sake of going or to please someone is a good way to fail or not get the most out of it. One of the first things I was taught in college was to study when you are most open for it in order to take in as much as possible. With this in mind, the same is true for the entire college experience. If a person's head is not in and they have to go because they are forced to go, than they most likely will not be as receptive towards it if they had opted to go on their own or for their own desires.

im going to reply to your blog with a blog i wrote for school...
Going to college takes up a big chunk of our lives. It’s four years of classes, endless hours of homework and studying, and a whole lot of alcohol consumption. But why is it that we go? There are some people who don’t go to college and still end up doing good things with their lives and making a good deal of money. Who says we need to spend four years and massive amounts of money just to start our lives? I think it’s a huge expectation from society. It’s the right thing to do isn’t it? We are expected to graduate high school, go to college, then get a job and get married. Or at least that seems to be the expectation to me. I just don’t think it is absolutely necessary. It shouldn’t HAVE to go like that. I don’t feel a need for my life to be planned out. What about people who want to spend time traveling or testing out different career options, where does that fit into the plan?
I mean don’t get me wrong, I am having a blast in college. I have made so many friends and had so many great memories. But I feel like this is not the place for everybody, and I don’t think it should be expected to be so. Some people simply don’t succeed in school and have never been very good at it. Some people are athletes and have a great gift, so why shouldn’t they just jump right into training and trying to get into the big leagues if they know that’s what they want to do. Or take missionaries, why do some people frown upon the fact that they are not going to school or doing anything productive but rather “wasting their time” doing things that aren’t going to matter in the long run. So if you think it’s for you and you want the experience, then go for it. But this shouldn’t be something that is expected out of everyone. I think it should definitely be a personal decision and should not be frowned upon if someone decided not to go.

Agreed. Education is important, but not cheap or easy to obtain. It would be nice if there was some sort of public college system where even poor or under privileged people can still obtain some basic college experience and degree level.

Education or becoming the best you can be is an entitlement of every human being. Unfortunately, education is not free to most countries and therefore a large population of the world population is struggling to achieve a balance necessary for educating their children.
